So what can a veneer do?

Porcelain Veneers Can Enhance Teeth That Are...

Comprehensive Cosmetic Enhancement in Just Weeks

Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic treatment because they can cover multiple aesthetic imperfections in less time than most other treatments. Because veneers conceal the entire front surface of the tooth, they can even improve slightly rotated, gapped, or misaligned teeth without the need for braces. This makes them a great option for patients who need to enhance their smile quickly for upcoming events like weddings or reunions.

How do I know if veneers are right for me?

Schedule an Appointment with Dr. Feldstein

Before recommending veneers, Dr. Feldstein will sit down with you to discuss your goals, preferences, and budget. Then he can perform a comprehensive exam to check for anything which could interfere with your veneers, such as:

Oral Health Issues

We cannot place veneers on unhealthy teeth. If you have gum disease, decay, or another serious concern, we can provide treatment to improve the health of your smile. Once your smile is healthy, Dr. Feldstein can place your veneers.

Clenching or Grinding

While veneers are made from a strong material, they can chip or crack. If you clench or grind your teeth, veneers may not be a good option for you. However, for some patients, we can provide a custom oral appliance to protect the veneers.

Severe Misalignment

For minor gaps or misalignment, veneers can provide a beautiful result. However, if you have a serious misalignment, you will likely need orthodontic treatment.

You Should Also Be Prepared For Permanent Changes

Since veneers require enamel to be removed from the front of your teeth, you should be prepared for a long-term commitment. In other words, once you receive veneers, the treated teeth will always need veneers or some other kind of restoration. Your veneers may need to be replaced every 10 years or so. However, many patients are happy to make this commitment due to the dramatic enhancement veneers can provide.

Let’s break down the veneer placement process...

Transform Your Smile in Two Weeks

Receiving porcelain veneers typically takes two visits to our office over the course of about two weeks. A typical treatment plan involves:

Adjustments to Your Tooth

Depending on the anatomy of your teeth, Dr. Feldstein may need to remove a small portion of enamel. However, with our minimal prep veneers, most patients need little to nothing removed.

Choosing a Shade

Using a shade guide, Dr. Feldstein will choose the color of material which most closely matches your smile, ensuring it blends seamlessly with surrounding teeth.

Taking Impressions

We will then take impressions of your smile and send them to our trusted dental laboratory.

Crafting the Veneers

It typically takes about two weeks for our lab to craft custom veneers. If Dr. Feldstein had to alter your tooth significantly, he may place a temporary for you to wear while you wait.

Making Sure You Are Satisfied

At your second visit to our Flushing office, Dr. Feldstein will check the fit, shape, and color of your veneers to ensure you are happy with the result. He can make adjustments to your veneer at this time.

Bonding the Veneer

The final step is attaching the veneer to the front of your tooth. Dr. Feldstein will etch the tooth and cement the veneer into place. He may also polish the surface for a shiny, natural-looking result.

So after all that, what will my teeth look like?

Take a Look at What Veneers Can Do

Before: slightly yellow and crooked teeth

Before

Even slight discoloration and crookedness can make your teeth look unhealthy.

After: white and straight teeth

After

Veneers can immediately conceal small flaws in your teeth for a healthier-looking smile.

How Long Do the Results Last?

With proper care, your new porcelain veneers can last up to 10 years. While you can brush and floss your veneers the same way you would your natural smile, you should also take care to avoid:

  • Chewing on ice
  • Tearing open packages with your teeth
  • Chewing on pens or other hard objects

Any of these habits can potentially weaken your veneers and lead to cracks or chips.

Ok, the effects are beautiful. But can I afford it?

How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?

At Jewel Dental Associates in Flushing, our average price for veneers treatment is $1,200 per tooth. There are a variety of factors which can influence the cost of your veneer treatment, including:

The Number of Teeth Treated

A major factor of the cost of your treatment is how many teeth you want to treat. A single tooth may cost between $1,000 and $1,200. Enhancing your entire smile will likely be more expensive.

The Material Used

For most of our patients, we use all-laminate material for our veneers. This material typically costs less than full porcelain.

The Results You Want

We work hard to meet our patient’s expectations for their results. Dr. Feldstein can coordinate with you to ensure your treatment plan addresses all your concerns. However, if you want a more comprehensive result, your final treatment cost may be higher.

If budget is a concern, financing is an option...

Every Patient Can Afford Veneers with Financing

Woman accepting credit card from customer

Dental insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures such as porcelain veneers. However, Dr. Feldstein believes every patient should be able to have the smile they desire. As such, he accepts credit cards and financing at his Flushing office. CareCredit® financing allows you to make smaller monthly payments on your treatment rather than pay out-of-pocket in a lump sum. Our team will work with you to establish a treatment plan that fits your budget and goals.

Alternatives to Porcelain Veneers

If porcelain veneers are not the right option for you, the Flushing team at Jewel Dental Associates also offers dental bonding. This affordable alternative is applied to the teeth as a resin and is shaped to the desired proportions. Because the effects are reversible, dental bonding is often recommended as a way to preview your results before committing to the permanence of veneers
